Ellie looked up as we sat down to lunch and yelled, "Mama! Look! It's snowing!" Horrified, I looked outside to see my worst allergy nightmare come true - we'll just call it a pollen storm. The camera was in the outbuilding, so I held my breath and ran to get it - all the while hearing the girls yelling, "Mama! It's coming into the house!" As I held my hands over my head and ran for cover, I could only yell, "For the love of God, close the door! Save yourselves!" I cannot remember allergies being this bad in the past, although this is the prime time when they strike every year. I remember being 8 months pregnant with Ellie and going through sneezing fits that left me cradling my belly and wetting my pants. Although intellectually I know things will improve, it's hard because we wait so long for the nice weather and then have to suffer to try to enjoy it - or lock ourselves in and close the windows.
Just one girl trying to not to drop anything too important...
